Review: Bite Cosmetics Matte Crème Lip Crayon

Hi Prepsters;

I've been a Bite Cosmetics fan every since I tried their multisticks, and was excited to receive these Matte Crème Lip Crayon in four shades. . They are high-pigment lip crayons with matte finishes, that are supposed to be waterproof, and hydrating for your lips. They retail for $28 CAD, and are exclusively available at Sephora.

The packaging is sleek, and the shade you buy is shown at the bottom of the tube. Each crayon contains 0.05 oz of product, and comes with a sharpened tip for easy lip lining.

The four shades I received were (from left to right): Sugarcane, Cognac, Liquorice, and Black Truffle.

Sugarcane is a very pale pink shade. It glides on the skin and lips, but was a little bit light for my skin tone. I find whenever I buy a lip shade in a light pink colour, it washes out my skin tone, and makes me look ghostly. Even though it was light, the product was extremely pigmented.

The next colour I swatted was a very true brown shade called Cognac. I thought the colour was beautiful, and looked edgy on. I am a huge fan of the formulation, which left my lips moisturized, and nourished, unlike most matte lipsticks.

The third colour was Liquorice, which is an oxblood red shade. I thought the colour would have been a more of a brown-red when looking at the shade in the packaging, however, the colour swatches on as more of a dark, orange based red.

The fourth colour is called Black truffle, and because of the packaging, I assumed it would be black. The colour is a deep eggplant, purple, and would be a really pretty fall colour. I wore each of these colours for eight hours over four separate days, and Black Truffle, and Cognac stayed on the longest (I'm assuming because they stained my lips), however, none of the colours lasted after any sort of food or drink, so I did re-apply them after throughout the day.

Overall I would recommend the products. My lips felt softer, and moisturized after every wear, and I loved the colour payoff. Every swipe was pigmented, and there is a large colour selection to choose from.
