The Fringe Sleeve Trend

Hi Prepsters,

One of the biggest anticipated trends for this upcoming season is the flapper fringe. It was seen on the runway for Marchesa, Erin Fetherston, Christian Siriano, Calvin Klein and by many others during NYFW. One of the easiest ways to wear this look is to keep the fringe as the statement piece by simplifying the textures, and the colour pallet for the rest of the outfit.

This fringe sleeved top is from Zara. I saw it online, and was nervous about the sizing because it only went up to a large. I thought it would have looked nicer if it was slightly looser, but otherwise it was fine. (I usually wear a size 16 on top) I loved the wide sleeve on this sweatshirt as well, if it were fitted, it may have looked like hairy arms.

I paired the fringe top with my favourite Joe Fresh jeans which I had bought a couple of years back. They fit me super well, and I feel like they give my booty a lift. The dark grey colour sets it apart from the top, but still maintains the monochromatic appearance. (Size: 16/33 inch)

To finish off this look, I went for a pair of pointed-toe black suede pumps from Saint Laurent. (Size 40 T - fits a size 10 US) The pointed toe is elongating, and is an essential piece for any girls closet. The suede is classic, and works with almost everything you could wear. I found a few similar pairs at DSW Canada that were more affordable.

Recently I have found some of the most beautiful, and trendy earrings at Forever 21 (no I'm not kidding). The prices are hard to beat, and many of the pieces that they sell are inspired by trends seen on the runway. These silver, twisted, hoop earrings are from there, and were only $8 CAD with taxes.

My makeup look inspiration was the warm rose gold tones. The highlight, the eyeshadow, and makeup was dewy with gold sparkles in it, my lips and blush were a very warm pink tone.
